Drive times to downtown Corvallis, from Google Maps in usual traffic
How does Marty help you relocate?
I help you compare Corvallis, Albany, Philomath, Lebanon, Monmouth, Independence, and Tangent on cost, commute, schools, vibe and weather before you buy, and then represent you when you’re ready. I want you to love where you land.
Seven towns within half an hour of Corvallis
Most people who move to this part of the Willamette Valley start with Corvallis, then look at the towns around it for a different pace, more land, or a shorter drive to Salem. Corvallis has a full guide. For the others, here’s the short version, and I’ll answer anything else directly.
Right on I-5, with blocks of historic homes, a downtown where the Calapooia meets the Willamette, and an Amtrak stop. An easy base if you work in Corvallis or Salem, and often more house for the budget.
Out Highway 20/34 at the foot of the Coast Range, with Marys Peak close by and the coast about an hour on. And say it fih-LOH-muth from day one; I learned that one the hard way.
East toward the Cascades on Highway 20, with its own hospital and a medical school campus. Usually where a budget goes furthest in the mid-valley, with room for land if you want it.

I moved here too. Then I stayed.
I know what it’s like to look at a town on a map and try to guess whether you’d be happy there. Photos don’t tell you how far the grocery store is, or which streets flood, or whether you’d actually bike to campus in February or just say you would. I had those same questions before I moved, and I’ve spent the years since learning the answers well enough to give them to you plainly.
That’s most of what relocation help really is. You’re not necessarily shopping for a house yet. You’re trying to decide between Corvallis and Albany, or between Oregon and wherever you are now. So we start there. What does your money buy in each town? How long is the drive to OSU or to work in Salem or Eugene? Which neighborhoods are walkable, which are quiet, which ones fill up fast when the university year starts? I’ll walk you through all of it, including the parts that might not sell you on the place.
Can’t be here yet? I film video walkthroughs of homes and neighborhoods for buyers who are still out of town.
When you’re ready to look at homes, I’ll represent you here, and I’ll still be picking up the phone long after you’ve unpacked. I put my clients before the sale, and I care too much to talk someone into a life here they won’t enjoy.
Moving from one home to another is challenging. Relocating to a whole new town can feel downright daunting. As a transplant to Corvallis, helping people discover the communities here, put down roots and begin a new life are dear to my heart.
Marty made the move in 2012. She started out in South Town and now lives in Witham Hill.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. You just need someone who will listen, give you a clear answer, and help you take the next step with confidence.
